Cyberpunk Art Event: Yokohama Cross Night Illumination

In an open space at Shinko Central Park, just a few minutes walk from an amusement park, Yokohama Cosmo World in the heart of Minato Mirai in Yokohama, 3 huge domes made with wire are set up and lit up in different colors in the evening. Free of charge, guests can walk through the dome to capture magical moments as well as more photo opportunities outside the dome with trees and park benches all lit up in a more sci-fi world.

Streets in the park are lined up with trees and objects decorated in triangular and hexagonal neon signs and lit up in a cyberpunk style. The colors change once in a while creating the space more mystical.

Over from the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse side, a whole view of the dome along with Yokohama Landmark Tower, Queen’s Square and Intercontinental Yokohama Grand Hotel which all these architecture symbolizes lighthouse, wave and a yacht, respectively, making it look like a “harbor” town, are a must not be missed moment to capture.

There are two main “portals” as noted on the event webpage, are set up at the entrance of the park to welcome the visitors. When going through the “portals”, it will be lit up in blue-ish white as if visitors are jumping into a different dimension entering a new world like in a sci-fi movie.
