In most RPGs, the character may be allowed to respawn in another place, though may have to pay a specified fee for dying and may not be able to rejoin the battle, quest, or event, making the act unfavorable. Other times, there may be certain means by which a character can be revived during a battle, quest, or event without having to respawn elsewhere and be able to continue to participate in the battle, quest, or event.

Demi
A demi is a type of race that is half of one race and half of another race. Some RPGs may allow for users to choose to become a demi when they register for a character. Hacking is highly discouraged and looked upon as something done by people who disregard sensible rules. Hacking is against the Twilightus Usage Policy and may result in a warning and additional consequences.

House Post
A house post is a post made by a user about their character's residence. Usually, RPGs have specified locations where these house posts can be made, such as "residential districts" or other such locations. This post may consist of all statistical information about the user's character, such as HP and MP, as well as a description of the character (past, attire, goals, etc.) and a description of the residence itself.

HP
HP stands for health points. These points used to determine how much health a character has at any given time, which is directly related to the character's physical endurance and stamina. HP is set by the staff of the RPG, usually according to either race or class. HP cannot be increased or decreased by users unless otherwise specified. HP may decrease when an enemy has successfully attacked while participating in a battle, quest, or event. The status of how much HP a character has at any given time during a battle, quest, or event will be displayed at each session update by a moderator if it is needed. Usually, the complete draining of HP means the playing character can no longer participate for the duration of the battle, quest, or event and has either died or fainted.
- I -
IC
IC stands for in character, which applies to users who are posting as a character in a topic. When users are not posting as a character, they post OOC. The standard syntax for showing that they are posting IC is by typing IC: before typing the rest of their message. (This syntax is usually only used after coming out of OOC while writing a message.)
- M -
Memberlist
The memberlist is a list of all the registered users. A modification was made to only display users who have one or more posts.

Moderator
A moderator is someone who moderates and manages only specific forums. Moderators in an RPG usually take on the role as a main character, typically one of great importance and power. Moderators start new quests, battles, and events and moderate the actions attempted by characters while playing IC.

Often, when posting an action as a character, the user posts their action as an attempt to do something, not actually doing it. For example, a character would attempt to slash at an opponent with their sword, but that does not actually mean they succeed at slashing at the opponent. A moderator's job is to give the outcome of the attempted action. This is because a user's attempt may or may not have succeeded. Something could happen or could have happened that made the user's character fail in successfully completing their action. This is only fair because there may be other characters attempting an action as well. If everyone's action instantly succeeded without the guidance and orchestration of a moderator, things would quickly crumble and everything, from the way health is taken away to the way a physical body responds to a hit from an enemy, would all be unreliable and unfair.

A moderator, therefore, will post the outcome of all of the attempted actions made during a session. Note that usually, only one action is allowed at a time per character per session.

When a user posts an action or several actions and disregards moderator approval (sessions), it is called godmodding. See God Modding.

Modification
A modification is an alteration or adjustment made to the phpBB software. Modifications enhance the forum software to give additional functions and resources to users, moderators, and administrators.

MP
MP stands for magic points, or sometimes "manna" points. These points used to determine how much magic a character has at any given time, which is directly related to the character's magical endurance and stamina. MP is set by the staff of the RPG, usually according to either race or class. MP cannot be increased or decreased by users unless otherwise specified. MP is often used to apply special skills or techniques that are abnormal in the real world. MP may decrease when a user's character has successfully applied a special skill or technique while participating in a battle, quest, or event. The status of how much MP a character has at any given time during a battle, quest, or event will be displayed at each session update by a moderator if it is needed. Usually, the complete draining of MP means the playing character can no longer apply any more special skills or techniques for the duration of the battle, quest, or event.

Multiple Posting
Multiple posting occurs when a user posts multiple messages in the same topic before another user responds. For instance, this would take place if a user were to reply once in a topic, then instantly reply again in the same topic, even if no other user has made a reply. This behavior is normally highly discouraged and looked down upon as something done by noobs, or inexperienced users. Multiple posting may also sometimes be considered spamming.

(This syntax is usually only used before going into IC or after coming out of IC while writing a message.)

For example, after a character attempts to attack a NPC that the moderator introduced, the user must wait until the moderator posts a follow-up post about the outcome of the confrontation and what happens next. Typically, this means that a user can only post once per session IC, although a user is usually allowed to post multiple times OOC, as long as they are not multiple posting.

Settings
Settings are the computer settings that a computer visiting {FORMAL} should have. These are suggested settings that enable the visitor to see the website how it is meant to be seen. See the Computer Settings page.

Skill
A skill is a special technique or method of action that a character may use during a battle, quest, or event if they have one personally available. These techniques are usually given only by the staff of the RPG and usually cannot be created by users, but can be used by users' characters.

Spam
Spam is purposely multiple posting for destructive or harmful purposes. Spam is also considered to be unsolicited messages. Such messages may be posted or PMed to gain attention towards something or someone. An example of this is posting an advertisement for a non-related website (e.g., an ad for a dating service). (Note that posting or PMing advertisements for other RPGs and forums are usually allowed, although the creator may specify how that is handled.) Spamming is highly discouraged and looked upon as something done by people who disregard sensible rules. Spamming is against the Twilightus Usage Policy and may result in a warning and additional consequences.

Twilightus Community
The Twilightus Community is a community of RPGs created by various creators from across the world.

Twilightus RPG
The Twilightus RPG is the main core RPG that was the original namesake of Twilightus. After several failures to sustain the RPG, it was closed, and the name of the website was renamed from The World of Twilightus to the Twilightus Universe. See the F.A.Q. page.

Twilightus Services
Twilightus Services are the services that are offered by {FORMAL}.

Twilightus Universe
The Twilightus Universe is the term used to describe the correlation between the RPGs of the Twilightus Community. It is the namesake of the {FORMAL} website. The fantasies of the various worlds of the Twilightus Community take place within the domains of the Twilightus Universe (i.e., {FORMAL}).

(Note that this in no way implies that {FORMAL} takes any credit for any content contained within any hosted forum. The term only describes where each RPG takes place in a way that relates to fantasy. For example, Geocities.com hosts thousands of websites created by thousands of individuals from across the globe. Each of these websites, however, are part of the "Geocities universe" in that they are all a part of the Geocities.com domain. Geocities.com, however, takes no credit for any content contained within any of their hosted websites. Content is credited to the creator of the content.)
