- A hot spring area which produces hot spring water containing some of the greatest quantities of radon in the world. Situated deep in the mountains, the area consists of numerous ryokan inns along the lush Mitoku River. The waters of the area’s radioactive hot springs have an average temperature of 52.8° C and are said to treat such ailments as nerve pain, rheumatism, gout, high blood pressure, hardening of the arteries, and diabetes. The district was also registered along with Mt. Mitoku as the Site for Purifying the Six Roots of Perception and Healing of the Six Senses, the very first Japan Heritage site. It is also famous for the kajika frogs which live in the pure waters of the Mitoku River, and from May to July many visitors come to listen to their beautiful song. The area’s public bathhouses, the Kawaraburo (a mixed gender outdoor bath) and inventive hot spring hotels and inns are popular.

- A picturesque hot spring district which faces Miho Bay and which boasts a commanding view of famed Mt. Daisen, known as the Hoki Fuji. Numerous hot spring hotels stand along Yumigahama Beach, selected as one of Japan's 100 best seashore areas as well as one of Japan's 88 top swimming beaches, and this area bustles with tourists particularly in summer. The area's chloride springs contain an abundance of sodium and calcium and are said to help aid recovery from fatigue and promote health in addition to alleviating muscle soreness, joint pain, rheumatism, chronic digestive diseases, and a variety of other conditions. The waters are also renowned for their skin beautifying properties and are particularly popular with women.

- Tottori Tohaku-gun Yurihama Cho Hawai Onsen
- A hot spring district situated along the west bank of Lake Togo in the center of Tottori Prefecture. The district got its start during the Edo period when local residents applied to make use of a source spring which flows under the lake. The waters of the area's chloride-sulfate springs are said to ease rheumatism, women's diseases, nerve pain, and joint pain. These springs are centrally managed by the Hawai Onsen-Togo Onsen Ryokan Association without the use of adding any additional waters whatsoever. Instead, the temperatures of the baths in the bathhouses here are adjusted by mixing waters of different temperatures from different source springs. According to legend, a carp taught the people about the existence of the spring at the bottom of Lake Togo. In turn, this area is also known as the Hot Spring of Love, a play on the word koi, which means carp but, when written with a different character, can also mean love, and many tourists come here in hopes of being granted an easy childbirth by the gods.

- This 1,300 year old hot spring district is the oldest in the Sanin region and has been designated a National Hot Spring Health Resorts, a mark of its excellence. Situated along the Gamou River known as clean stream, the district has a quiet and simple atmosphere. An unusual bathing custom is found in the area; called yukamuri, local bathers will place a tenugui hand towel on the top of their head and pour water over it with a ladle. The waters of the area's sulfate springs are said to treat nerve pain, rheumatism, and women's diseases, and, when drunk, gastrointestinal disorders and hemorrhoids. There are also an abundance of sightseeing destinations in the area, including the Old Iwai Elementary School, the oldest extant Western-style building in Tottori Prefecture; Miyu-jinja Shrine, believed to have been constructed in the early Heian period; and the Yukamuri Gallery, an art museum dedicated to the early Showa woman artist Midori Osaki.
