Grand HIRAFU: Hokkaido Abutagunkucchanchou Yamada 204; This is the largest of the four ski resorts in the Niseko area. With the Siberian chill that blows in on the area’s seasonal wind, you can enjoy the finest powder snow. It has 15 gondolas and lifts, a rich variety of 30 runs, and Mt. Yotei rising before your eyes. The resort is enormous, so it’s a good idea to bring a course map the first time you visit. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes at the foot of the resort, so you’ll always be able to find good eating and drinking options.

Furano Ski Resort: Hokkaido Furanoshi Nakagoryou; Furano Ski Resort is a ski resort in Furano owned by New Furano Prince Hotel. There are two areas with a total of 24 courses can be enjoyed by advanced through to beginner skiers; the Kitanomine zone has good quality snow and a diverse array of courses while the Furano zone mainly has long run courses. In January to February you can ski on a surface of dry powder snow. Snowboarding is available on all courses. There is also a kids experience program which is perfect for first-time skiers and playing in the snow.

Niseko Annupuri: Niseko town Abuta-gun, Hokkaido Niseko 485; This ski resort opened in 1972. The Niseko area gets a lot of snowfall from the northwest seasonal winds and is sometimes called a Ski Mecca and the St. Moritz of the East. Its longest run is more than three kilometers and provides heaps of fun on the comfortable cruise down the slope. With plenty of courses for families and juniors, the resort offers a great time for the whole family in the Niseko Area.

Sapporo Kokusai Ski Resort: Hokkaido Sapporoshi Minami-ku Jouzankei 937 ahead; This ski resort is in Sapporo's Minami Ward. The expansive resort has seven slopes for everyone from beginners to experts. There are also snowboard courses and children's slopes so snowboarders and family groups are also welcome. They also offer clothing and other rentals as well as ski-related goods for sale.

Sapporo Bankei Ski Area: Hokkaido Sapporoshi Chuou-ku Bankei 410; Ski resort in Sapporo City in Chuo Ward. Lots of visitors use this ski resort in the winter but summer offers a wide variety of activities as well. Try the tennis courts the park golf course and other outdoor leisure activities. They also offer ski rentals and skiing classes for beginners.

Kiroro Resort: Hokkaido Yoichigunakaigawamura Tokiwa 128-1; This ski resort and Marriott hotel is open all year round in Akaigawa Yoichi Hokkaido. Enjoy your winter with outstanding Hokkaido winter sports glamping hot springs and their swimming pool. The summer time brings park golf kayaking tours and a variety of other activities which you can enjoy all year round.

Kamui Ski Links: Hokkaido Asahikawashi Kamuichou Nishioka 112; Ski resort in Ashikawa City. One of the largest ski resorts in northern Hokkaido where skiers can enjoy fresh powdered snow. Among the 10 ski runs including beginner and advanced slopes there is an FIS (International Ski Federation) recognized pole training course. Easy access from Ashikawa or Sapporo making this a popular leisure spot for skiers.

Sahoro Resort Ski Area: Hakuba-gun, Shintoku-gun, Hokkaido Hakubatsu Kogen; A ski resort located in Shintoku Town Kamikawa County Hokkaido. Here you can enjoy skiing amidst a beautiful landscape while enjoying the scenery of the Tokachi Plain area. The resort is characterized by its low water content down snow which differs from the snow of areas with heavier snowfalls. In January and February skiers can catch sight of diamond dust and sun pillar (light pillar) phenomena. The resort's courses range from beginner to advanced and equipment can be rented at the rental shop.

Sapporo Moiwayama Ski Resort: Hokkaido Sapporoshi Minami-ku Moiwashita 1991; A ski resort opened in 1960 and located in Sapporo City Hokkaido. Located very close to urban Sapporo the resort is for skiers only and is the only slope in Hokkaido to prohibit snowboarding. The resort has 10 different courses and everyone from beginners to advanced skiers can have fun here. The Sapporo Moiwayama Ski Resort Festival is also held here each year and the facility is a popular destination for locals.

Sapporo Teine: Hokkaido Sapporoshi Teine-ku Teinehonchou 593; Sapporo Teine is the largest leisure facility in the suburbs of Sapporo. About 40 minutes from Sapporo City center, it enjoys good access, being a mere seven minutes from the Teine Interchange on the Sapporo Expressway. The Highland Zone with an elevation of 1,023 meters is a ski resort which was also used as a competition venue at the Sapporo Olympics held in 1972. There are plenty of ski slope attractions including the Terrain Park with its dynamic atmosphere and the Kyoryu Kids Park, where powerful dinosaurs can be played with. There is also free all-day parking that can accommodate 3,000 cars.
