Amagajo Park

Event

This park was created over the ruins of Amagajo Castle in Takaoka Town, Miyazaki City, Miyazaki Prefecture, and it features spectacular views of Oyodogawa River, the town, and the Hyuga-nada sea. The roughly 1,300 Yoshino trees are termed “senbon-zakura” and they paint the area pink and white from late March to early April. The azaleas are best in mid-April, when a nice contrast and shift from pink to red comes into force. During the sakura season, the Amagajo Kaimon Sakura Festival is held. Toilets, tea café and parking available.
